How this is calculated
The range starts from a cost per square foot of floor area, which is how most interior repaints are quoted. Ceilings add about a quarter to the job and trim and doors about a fifth, because both are slow, cut-in heavy work. Treat the low end as a straightforward repaint in good condition and the high end as heavy patching, multiple colors, or tall walls. Your own numbers will differ by market and crew — build the real price from your measurements, your paint costs, and your labor rates.
